Healthcare technology should be usable by more people.
Umoja aims to apply accessible web design principles to both the public website and the evolving EHR experience, with WCAG 2.2 AA as a practical design target where applicable.
Our accessibility direction
We aim to support keyboard navigation, visible focus states, semantic structure, readable typography, sufficient color contrast, meaningful labels, alternative text and reduced-motion preferences.
Theme accessibility features
- Skip-to-content navigation
- Semantic headings and landmarks
- Keyboard-operable mobile navigation
- Visible focus behavior through browser standards
- Reduced-motion support
- Responsive layouts for smaller screens and zoom
- Text alternatives for meaningful product imagery
Clinical application accessibility
EHR accessibility is more demanding than marketing-site accessibility because clinical workspaces may include dense tables, grids, time-series data, alerts and keyboard-driven workflows. Accessibility testing should therefore be incorporated into each production implementation and major workflow release.
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, contact us with the page, task, assistive technology if relevant, and a description of what prevented completion.
